Vice Sheet - June 2003
by Sallie Banko, Region 2 RVC

Are you going to the AG? I am! And for the first time in who knows how long, I will not have any responsibilities or need to attend any required events while there. Ed Gordon will be taking over as RVC for this region when the gavel falls at the business meeting. So if you want to catch me while I'm still in office, you better get there early! This is my last column as RVC for Region 2, and there are a few things that I need to pass on to you.

There is another in the region who deserves a service award - and has in fact already received it and the accompanying certificate. Marc Lederman was presented with the regional service award for his contribution in dragging this region into the 21st century. He is the reason we have a website, and I understand he has also had a part in the latest regional mailing list. He not only offered to set up a regional website (http://www.region2.us.mensa.org/), but also took on the task of webmaster and kept it updated. I for one greatly appreciated the time and effort he's put into this! So if you run into Marc anywhere, make sure to thank him.

While checking out the regional website (you are, aren't you?) you should check out the national web site as well. Please note that each member has his/her own password for the members' only section. If you do not know yours, contact the national office to find out what it is. While there, check out all the information that is available!

I am not including the result to that national election, as I assume it has been reported elsewhere. And it's been known for some time that Ed Gordon will be the next RVC, as he was declared such a while ago.

I'd like to thank all the members of this region for making it easy for me to be your RVC. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch to represent - and it was an honor for me to do so. Be nice to Ed. Don't scare him too much - at least not right away!
