Vice Sheet - June 2002 by Sallie Banko, Region 2 RVC |
I'd like to take the time to say "thank you"! The members of this region make it easy to be RVC. Sure, there are/were some conflicts - but those involved with any such situation worked through it cordially, with a minimum of tangents and mudslinging. There will always be differences of opinions, concerns and incompatible visions; the art is in working through it all to an acceptable resolution. And you guys have been great!
I've appreciated the input received - and the volunteers! Be it local, regional or national, the members of this region have always come through. If I've missed thanking you at the time, let me thank you now. Even if your volunteerism was not needed at the time of the offer, trust me when I say the offer was/is always greatly appreciated!
Speaking of volunteers - looking at how busy I've been this past year, I've come to the decision that I will not be running for RVC next year. I'm letting people know this now, so that if you are interested in the position, you can notify the national NomComm.
Maybe you'd even be willing to learn the ropes early by volunteering to be assistant RVC? I've got two large projects schedule this year - one in Mensa and one at my real job - and could use the help. I'm also busier than ever with my local group, which is growing!
Next month I'll report back on the AMC meeting and other events that took place at the AG.
